Making Your Own Healthy Recipes

Choose Natural Ingredients

When you start creating your own healthy recipes, keep a few things in mind.

healthy recipesAlways use wholesome ingredients.

Trying to figure out what is healthy to eat and what is unhealthy can be tough, so follow this rule . . .  keep everything as natural as possible.

Natural foods should include fresh produce, whole eggs, free-range poultry and lean meats. The goal is to use foods that are not processed as often as possible plus these foods do not contain trans-fats, preservatives or any of the other chemical additives that can make them dangerous to eat.

Use Organic Fruits, Vegetables and Meats Whenever You Can

If you are currently following the Diet Solution Program, you already know where Isabel stands in regards to organic foods. You want to choose organic meat, poultry and produce because these are the foods that don’t contain synthetic chemicals, sewer sludge or genetically engineered materials.

Prepare Food Using the Right Kind of Oil

There are plenty of recipes that want the food to be sautéed, baked, fried or grilled. To try to keep these foods on the healthy side, instead of using shortening and vegetable oil, use olive oil, real butter or coconut oil. These are the healthy oils  and can also add nutritional value to your meals.

Coconut oil is outstanding when deep frying foods. Use olive oil and real butter for sautéing.

Warning! Do not deep fry your foods in olive oil or butter or you risk starting a fire!

Olive oil can also be used to coat your meats and vegetables before you grill or bake them.

Experiment With Your Recipes

That’s one of the fun parts of cooking. Swap out ingredients you don’t care for with ones you love. Try using healthy ingredients when you can. But keep in mind that you do not have to deprive yourself of delicious meals in order to lose weight.

Healthy Eating

healthy eatingHealthy eating takes a bit of discipline on your part, but the dividends are well worth it.

Always keep in mind that restricting food in any way is always a bad thing. Healthy eating is a way of life and is something you can do to enhance your body and your lifestyle.

If you’ve thought about making your life better, healthy eating is the place to start. While it will take time and may not always be easy it will ultimately make life better and easier for you and your family.

The first place to begin is breakfast. I know you have heard this a million times but I’m going to say it again anyway. :-)

Skipping breakfast is never a good idea. Your body needs fuel as soon as possible when you wake up and, without it, you’ll be hungry throughout the day. And you know what that can lead to.

Obesity

Obesity is a serious health hazard. Being overweight can cause numerous health related issues. There are proven studies that have been done showing that being overweight can lead to hypertension, cardiac troubles, sleep apnea, diabetes and more.

Not to mention being obese could hamper your  freedom to move, run, or sit comfortably in a standard chair.

Virtually any healthy weight loss plan that would be recommended by dieticians and/or nutritionists starts out with a simple healthy diet tip – reduce your food intake to the optimum amount for your body. Unfortunately this may not be that easy for you to do as it requires a lot of dedication on your part to say NO to seconds or delicious snacks.

It is also important to be careful not to reduce your food intake too quickly. Doing so can have an adverse effect on your health and your overall results.

Reducing your food intake does means adopting a healthier and balanced eating schedule. As a rule of thumb a healthy weight loss diet plan includes fresh fruits and vegetables, low-fat dairy products and whole grains, along with drinking a lot of water, at least 8-10 glasses a day.

To attain the weight you are looking for you will also need to include exercise to burn extra calories, to build muscle tone and to gain extra energy. Try to spend a minimum of 30 minutes a day doing some type of physical activity; whether it is a short walk around your neighborhood, strength training at home or working out at a gym.

It doesn’t matter what healthy weight loss diet plan you choose as they will all require some hard work by you, both physically and mentally, in order to drop those extra pounds. But I guarantee the end result is worth all the efforts that you’ll put in.
